Why Use LED Lighting? |

Energy efficient. Recently introduced ultrahigh brightness LEDs are much more energy efficient than incandescent lights, reducing both your energy bills and your carbon footprint. The efficacy of a typical residential
application LED is approximately 30 lumens per watt (LPW), though efficacies of up to 100 LPW have been created in laboratory settings, whereas incandescent bulbs have an efficacy of about 15 LPW and CFL of about 60 LPW |

Long Life. LEDs last up to 20 times longer than ordinary light bulbs (LEDs have an estimated life of 30,000-50,000 hours, compared to 1,000-2,000 hours for incandescent bulbs). This reduces maintenance costs, especially where bulbs or fittings are difficult to reach. Also LEDs don't suddenly burn out like tungsten sources, but slowly fade over time, allowing planned maintenance. |

Money saving. Although LED light bulbs are more expensive to buy than incandescent bulbs, because they are much cheaper to run and last much longer than incandescent lights, they save money in the long run. |

Easily dimmed, unlike compact fluorescent lights, and don’t change colour when dimmed, unlike incandescent lights which turn excessively yellow when dimmed. |

Small size. CFLs are bigger than their incandescent equivalents; this is especially a problem for halogen spotlights often used in kitchens and bathrooms. LEDs, however, are very small and so direct replacements for halogen spotlights are available. |

Light instantly and have no warming-up time, unlike compact fluorescent bulbs, which can take several minutes to reach full brightness. |
